Supporting employee wellness with Virtual Health Coaching

When an employee has had a Health Screening appointment or an Online Health Risk Assessment that identified a risk, what's the next step? Talking to a knowledgeable healthcare provider can really help them understand their assessment and take important next steps to improve their health.

Lifemark Virtual Health Coaching, offered by video or phone call, gives them a chance to talk privately and confidentially with a Registered Nurse, who can give them more information about their health and help them understand what they need to do to reduce their risks.

In the 30-minute session they review the employee's screening results together, covering key health data points such as cholesterol levels, blood sugar, Body Mass Index (BMI) and cardiovascular health. Then the RN helps the employee understand what steps they can take to reduce their risk including tips for managing stress, cutting out smoking, learning to eat healthier and if necessary, following up with their family doctor. The session also gives the employee a chance to get answers to their health questions, and to feel supported and motivated in their journey to change their lifestyle for the better.

These virtual sessions can catch issues employees aren't aware of, and motivate them to make changes and seek potentially lifesaving care.

Benefits for employers

Offering this valuable healthcare benefit is an opportunity for you, as an employer, to show your support for employee wellness. Not only does that build immeasurable goodwill and loyalty in your workforce, it also helps reduce sick days and disability leaves. Keeping people healthy is in everyone's best interest.

Even if an employee hasn't had a health screening, a coaching session with an RN can give them valuable insight into their health, and help them achieve their goals for improved wellness.

What can employees expect from their Virtual Health Coaching session?

After pre-registering (which includes signing waivers and consent forms) for their appointment online, the employee's health data is sent to the Registered Nurse via a secure portal. Then during their one-on-one 30-minute session, the RN reviews that data with them and helps them understand what they need to do to improve their wellness.
